Project Summary

City Walk is a unique, creative outdoor lifestyle destination in the heart of Dubai, with hundreds of exclusive shops, restaurants and leisure activities set among 34 low-rise residential buildings and tree-lined avenues. City Walk is a relatively new residential area in Dubai, built on the principle of a “city within a city”. It is located in the Al Safa district on Al Wasl Road, near the main street Sheikh Zayed Road, a 20-minute walk to The Dubai Mall and popular hotels. City Walk enjoys the strategic advantage of a prime location that offers an unobstructed view of Dubai’s skyline.

In 2016 a project called Dubai Walls Festival was an initiative to introduce street art to the Emirate of Dubai, inviting international artists to create an outdoor collection of contemporary street art murals and sculptural pieces.

Grankraft adopts a customer-centric approach and ensures client involvement from project inception to execution which is especially important when working with public art.

As part of the Dubai Walls Festival in 2016 we manufactured a unique 8m high sculpture which is located at the public realm of City Walk. This eye-catching structure consists of 24 spiral profiles built in satin finish stainless steel. Each individual piece is made from a RHS profile which was bent into its 3-dimensional shape. Every piece is identical in geometry and is arranged in a circular footprint to form the overall shape and are joined at the top with an oculus opening. Controlling the accuracy of the bending was crucial to achieve the uniform appearance of the sculpture which was pre-assembled in the factory and transported to site.

Our expertise in value engineering and usage of innovative technologies have made it possible for us to accomplish this complex and urban design within the demanding program.
